Client Trust
We have recently started caring for a gorgeous little dachshund, Layla, who sustained an injury at her house and, unfortunately, has damaged her back.
She cannot control her bladder and needs help with both #1 and #2, meaning she is very dependent on us while she's with us during the day.
While she undergoes treatment and physical therapy, we have had the wonderful opportunity to become a member of her care team.
Why did they choose us? Well, 1) We offer services in our home to a select few clients, meaning we're able to offer 24 hr care to those who really need it, 2) We're close to where the owner works, making it easy and less hassle on their schedule and 3) We have extensive backgrounds and experience in dachshunds and their exact needs and care. We don't really market our experience with dachshunds specifically, though maybe we should start.
Getting to partner with the owner to help educate and participate in her recovery has really been awesome. It's a reminder of just how serious pet care is, and the total trust and reliance the owners place in our hands. It's not something we take lightly. It's also a reminder of just how dependent all of the furry friends are on us when we're caring for them.
How do we, as pet sitters, build that trust? We recognize the importance of building that trust before you even meet them: through our marketing, the blogs we write, and the other text we use use to communicate our experience. Using video and lots of photos of ourselves lets potential clients get to know us. Then, during the meet and greet, being confident in your abilities and strengths.
So, how do you build a client's trust?
