Daily Small Biz Life

Daily Small Biz Life

Not sure if you know this, but running a small business is not an easy feat. You're doing so much, and often we try to do *everything* and end up beating ourselves up when we can’t.

As much as you'd love to, you can't control everything. Market changes, unexpected expenses, that one customer who just can't be pleased? They're all actually par for the course. They ARE going to happen, regardless of what you do. What can you control? How you respond, adapt, and keep moving.

One of the hardest parts in running a business (and in our personal lives honestly...) is learning to accept the things we can't change and focus on what we can.

In 'Meditations', Marcus Aurelius wrote:

You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I think Marcus might’ve secretly been a small business owner. That quote screams, “Daily small biz life!”

Here's a fresh perspective: when there’s something left undone at the end of a hectic day, don't beat yourself up. Maybe, just _maybe_, it wasn’t meant to get done today. And that's okay. Tomorrow is another day, another opportunity.

The essence? Breathe. Take a step back. Focus on what you can change and control. If you've given your best, then rest easy. The rest has a way of sorting itself out. Maybe that thing you're stressing about wasn’t as urgent or essential as you thought.

So, next time you're drowning in tasks and feel like there’s not enough coffee in the world to get you through your to-do list, remember good ol' Marcus and the Stoics. You can only do so much. The rest? Well, maybe it’s not yours to do.

Stay cool, keep grinding, and give yourself a break every once in a while.
